As someone who spent over 15 years navigating corporate Canada in senior
leadership, C-suite, and D-suite environments, I know firsthand what it feels
like to be overlooked, not because of capability, but because of culture. I was
often passed over for promotions despite delivering top-tier results, not due
to lack of merit, but because I wasn’t part of the “boys’ club.” Eventually, I
became the first Black woman to be named store manager in a company’s
55-year history — a milestone that was both a personal victory and a stark
reminder of how far we still have to go.

LeadHERship Equity was born out of that lived experience. We don’t just talk about leadership development—we
reshape the systems that decide who gets to lead. The value we bring to organizations extends beyond mere
